Won't record in Au CS6 !

This is driving me insane! I'm using CS6, yes I know, old. Anyway, I open Au, choose waveform and the settings I have used hundreds of times before,  click to record and it just sits there! I have closed all other programs, done all the maintenence things, rebooted the computer, absolutely everything I can think of short of uninstalling and reinstalling the program. This is new since the last time I recorded. I haven't purposfully changed anything, it just won't freakin' go! Please help!

No, that doesn't matter. If the transport fails to move it means only one thing (there are no known exceptions to this in any versions): Your sound device isn't connected correctly (or even at all) to Audition. That is literally the only thing that stops it.
