Adobe Audition CC 2020

New Here ,
Dec 11, 2019 Dec 11, 2019

Hello Everyone,

After editing a .FLAC music file by using Adobe Audition CC 2020, the metadata/album cover art could not be saved.

[It was lost after saving the .FLAC music file]

I would very much appreciate your insights.

Thank you all.

My insight is that Audition doesn't edit FLAC files at all - it decodes them to .wav files, and then has to reconvert them to FLACs if you want to resave them in that format. And wav files do not allow the embedding of album art, so the data wouldn't be retained through the edit, so it wouldn't, and indeed couldn't, have been rewritten.

This isn't just FLAC it applies to in Audition - it's any format at all that isn't wav.

After having double checked, I discovered that only Album Cover Art was lost, but the File name, Artist name & Album name are still retained (after saving the .FLAC music file).

[Are there bugs/ errors in the Adobe Audition?]
