audio quality degraded / audition podcast preset?

I have a question about degraded audio moving from the original recording to a multitrack session. I have a WAV file voice recording I made on a Zoom H5 (sample rate 44100, bit depth: 32). The audio is clear and clean during Audition playback as a waveform, but when I bring it into a multitrack session using the Audition Podcast template, the audio deteriorates (e.g. breath and other artifacts accentuated). Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

If, on any track you choose using this template, you click on the fx button in the track controls, you'll find that they all have effects allocated to them, and it's these pre-programmed effects that are screwing up your audio. They are even present on the Master track.

If you don't like them, then get rid of them!
