Since we have absolutely zero information about the hardware you already have, it's impossible to answer this question as it stands. For all we know, it may be completely impossible; some machines physically can't handle the memory requirements.

Mostly that's about the hard disk - but as far as I'm aware, any Quad core i7 should be able to support a 64-but OS. You need to contact Apple about this though - nothing we can do about it.

think the OP is asking about updating AA CS6 to 64 bit, rather than his OS to 64 bit, isn't he/she?

If so, and if my memory serves me correctly, CS6 was only ever 32 bit, hence the only way to upgrade AA to 64 bit is to use the CC Version of AA, currently 12.1.45.

(If I've misunderstood the OP's question, my apologies.)

You could well be correct - it may be me that misunderstood! But yes, the only option is to take out a subscription.

Is there anyway to get Audition to work with Catalina?

If you mean AA CS6, then the answer is No. As already explained, CS6 was 32 bit only and, as I understand it, Catalina is the first 64 bit OS which will not allow 32 bit apps to run. So, only an update to the current subscription version of AA will run on your new OS.
