Audition to iZotope RX 7 Connect Issues

I'm trying to send my audio from Audition to RX 7 via the connect option.

I go to Waveform then I go Effects/VST/Effect/iZoptope inc/RX7 Connect

The Effect - RX 7 Connect window will appear but I can't get "Repair" to highlight before hitting apply. I've tried highlighting the waveform, double clicking on it, not having it highlighted and nothing changes... then suddenly it would work. Repair would be highlighted and I could connect to RX 7. Now it seems to have stopped working all together.

Please, what do I do? What am i doing wrong?

Thanks,

JR

You aren't doing anything wrong, as such - just not using it the way it works!

You have to bear in mind that the Connect option is multi-purpose, and that the 'repair' option is for sending, not returning. The sustem assumes that you can preview your repair in RX7 - which you can - and therefore don't need to do this in Audition. Audition can't do this anyway, as it hasn't carried out the repair, so technically there's nothing to preview. So your only option, and the one you have to use, is to hit 'Apply'. At this point it replaces the Audition audio with the RX7 treated version.

So the sequence of events (it doesn't have to be in the rack) is that you highlight the audio, open RX Connect and select Repair. This sends the audio to RX7. You do the repair and hit 'Resend' at the top of the RX screen and you are prompted to re-open Connect. (Yeah, that bit's a bit cludgy, admittedly.) Then you press Apply, and your audio is returned to Audition. I've just tested this a couple of times on the current release, and if you follow these steps it works fine.

I've been using RX.xx with Audition for years. I've never used the "Repair" option in the displayed dialog. Assuming you are loading the RX Connect module in the Audition EFX Rack ... press Apply located at lower left/bottom of Rack. The connect instance should conform to what's selected. That is - a segment or the entire file. Process in RX, and then press Send Back. Replicate Apply in EFX Rack (you need to re-instantiate the Connect module). You should be all set ...

Tried that, it completely whipes out the audio in audition and sends nothing to iZotope RX7

It's worked here for years through progressivly updated versions of Audition and RX.

I can partially confirm this behaviour, running AA 13.0.1.35 on PC.  I can get either of "Repair" or "Reference" to highlight but pressing either of them, nothing happens!

I can look into this, but I first need to know which version of Audition you're using. If it's VST you're using, I presume that this is a PC not a Mac?
