Distorted haze all across screen when I load a file

Question

When I open audition all is fine. When I import a file, immediately a weird strange grayish colored haze appears all over the problem making any editing impossible. I do not get any such distortion with any other adobe problems, only when I open an audio file in Audition.  No idea at all what that is about.

It's all to do with hardware acceleration. It works fine on some machines, and doesn't on others. Edit>Preferences>General will get you to it:

If it's on, turn it off - and vice versa. Remember to do the restart, though.
