I’ve been searching for an answer to this problem and can’t seem to locate a solution. I do a lot of podcast editing in CS5.5. When editing a Multitrack audio, the file often times switches to Waveform when I left-click the mouse. This has occurred when adding a splice, and, when I attempt to click and drag an audio clip. Sometimes, it takes several attempt to perform this task in a Multitrack screen, without it bouncing to Waveform. Any idea what causes this and how to make it stop doing that?
It sounds like a possible faulty mouse button. Double clicking on a clip in the Multitrack view takes you to the Waveform view to edit the audio file. This is normal in Audition. Sometimes you can adjust mouse button double click speed detection in Windows set up.

Defective mouse button was the problem. Replaced it today. Works perfectly. Many, many thanks,
