I have 8 tracks on my interface but only 2 choices in audition for selecting inputs.

Hey Guys.  So I'm running into an issue.  I need my phantom power for my new condensor mic but I cant get access to channels 5 and 6 on my interface through audition.  When in preferences - audio channel mabbing - It only has inputs for Right and left as the 2 options.  I don't understand how to add inputs as available options.

I've seen online where people have an aray of input options to choose from when arming a track but I can't figure out how to get audition to recognize the other 6 input tracks on my ZOOM R16.  For examply if I wanted to arm 8 tracks to record 8 separate mics at one time to capture drums in audition I'm stumped on how to make all of these channels available as an option to select for each track. I know it can be done but I haven't found the answer on how to do it online so I've come here.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Will~

Make sure that in Preferences>Audio Hardware that you are using the ASIO drive class, and the Zoom driver there; that's the only way to have multichannel inputs. If you use MME you will only ever see two channels available - that's the Microsoft default minimum, and virtually no manufacturers go beyond that, as they'd have to submit their drivers to Microsoft for authentication, and that costs an absolute fortune.

Also, make sure you've downloaded the latest drivers from Zoom, if you haven't already.

Thanks for responding Steve.  So when I set the device class to ASIO and look for the zoom driver it's there but states that it's not working.  Wonder if this means that the Zoom drivers from their website aren't up to date or that Zoom didn't take ASIO functions into account.  I've redownloaded the drivers at this point and still getting the same result.  Really I just need to be able to get audition to recognize input #5 on the Zoom so that I can get access to the phantom power.  If I can't I can still record onto the zoom device and transfer the vocal tracks over for editing but having it all goign into audition is so much more convenient.  Any other ideas on getting it to function is greatly appreciated.

Being Zoom, make sure that all the sample rates (Zoom R16 and Audition) are set to the same figure, and when starting a new session, make sure that this is set to the same rate as well.
