Question

Multitrack edit audio to video, Output video to monitors

I've done some searching online and on Adobe Community but have not found any answers.

Is there a way to route video to an external monitor when using Audition? I want to be able to have clients in the edit suite and watching the "big screen" and also hear the mix I am doing in Audition. The edit suite system is set up with BlackMagic DeckLink 4K and can output video to multiple monitors when using After Effects, Premiere or Resolve. However, when using Audition, it doesn't seem to be able to send video to the DeckLink 4K. I would love to be able to route the video playback in Audition to external monitors. What is the recommended way to do this?

Otherwise I seem to have to have clients sit at my desk looking at my computer monitors. Not the greatest user experience.

Thanks for any tech advise on this.

The short answer is no. I have the same BM setup as you and Audition does not support the Mercury Transmit option that is needed for external playback. Please submit a feature request.

I'd second Richard and urge you to do a Feature Request.  There are a fair number of people who would like this addition--and, in my experience, the developers do try to act on common requests.

You would have thought that it could be quite simple to add in the Premiere video playback engine to Audition's video output. but what do I know.

Years ago before I retired it was a feature which I would have been given an arm and a leg for. But now I am pretty happy that, at least, you can play the video independently onto a second HDMI monitor connected to the PC's graphics card. You can do it now with a frameless video only image on the second monitor.
