Question

"File > Export > Session" does nothing on macOS 13.0.7.38

On the macOS version of Audition 2020 (13.0.7.38), File > Export > Session does _NOTHING_ at all.

It does not even write the *.sesx file.

What's going on?  The latest update messed up a bunch of things in Audition including this.

Uninstalling/reinstalling has not helped.  Rebooting has not helped.  Since 2019 has issues with VST3 plugins, I'm having to ALL THE WAY BACK to 2017 for the moment.

Anyone know what to do about this?  Anyone else having this problem (or able to test)?

Same here, on Windows 10. I've tried on 23.1.0.57 (Beta) and the latest Release version (2023)....and doing File> Export > Session... brings up the options as you'd expect (file location, "Save copies of associated files" etc, but when I click OK, either nothing at all then happens (exactly as if I'd clicked Cancel) or it (erroneously) give a message saying "The selection contains one or more files whose file format is either unknown or not supported by Audition. Please select a file format for these files" with a dropdown menu to select Wave PCM or AIFF. Regardless of what I select, then click OK, Audition just does nothing...no files created, nothing.

I also just installed Audition 22.0.0.96, and this does not work either.

I do not want to export a mixdown, I want to export the whole project, with all the files, so I can hand it over to someone else on another machine. Exactly as I'd do in After Effects using "Collect Files". If I turn off "Save copies of associated files", then Audition does indeed export a copy of the session....but I can just do "Save As..." for that. It would seem that it is impossible to export a session and hand it over to someone else without manually digging out every single file I've used from wherever they're located and manually copying each and every one!!!!!!!

I am having this exact same issue but only with one project. All my previous projects still export the same.

Is your goal to export the attributes of your Session via the .sesx file for subsequent accessibility, etc. -  or are you attempting to export a mixdown of your Session? For the latter choose one of the Export/Multitrack Mixdown options. BTW I'm on a Mac running the current version of Audition. "Export Session" works as expected.

It does not even write the *.sesx file

I am not a Mac user so cannot really help with the Export problem (it works as expected for me on Windows) but the .sesx file is saved when you chose the option to "Save" or "Save as...", not when the Export is attempted.
