Road Noise Inside A Car

I had to interview somone inside a moving car on the freeway, thinking I would only need to transcribe for print later. But the audio turned out to be something I want to use. The road noise is unbearable as is; it hits -6 in some places, and the actual voice peaks are -1. Any De-Noise gurus out there that want to offer some advice for making this audio actually listenable. (file attached). It doesn't have to be perfect; I expect listeners will know it was captured in a moving vehicle, but I would just like to preserve as much of the nuance of the voice as possible. Any guidance you could give would be very much appreciated.

Noise Reduction is the best bet. Follow Steve's advice and you should have something very usable. I tested DeNoise on this sample but it didn't work as well, in this case, as Noise Reduction.

Fortunately, at least within the sample you gave, the noise is reasonably constant. This means that you stand a reasonable chance of reducing it quite a bit with NR. Set a high value of FFT size initially, take a noise print, and don't take too much noise off in a single pass (just a few dB). Now change the FFT size, resample the noise and have another shot at it, still taking off very little. And then do that again with a relatively low FFT value. Yes, you have to resample it each time and it's a pain - but this is definitely the best way to do it. It's never going to work out perfectly, but you can improve the legibility of it, definitely.
