PC user- I'm trying to record a multi track of Skype and my microphone separate. Could someone give me a few pointers to get this started? Is it even possible to do something like this with Audition? If I must have my interviewee record their audio and send it I will, but i'd like to try and record live if possible. Thank you in advance.
It's possible to record Skype with Audition, but it's a bit of a nightmare to set up if you want to separate out the feeds. Our recommendation these days is to use one of the (several) free Skype recorders, which give you a much easier and more manageable setup, and then transfer the results to Audition for editing. Do the live recording anyway, but get the interviewee to make a local good recording of their end and send it to you. You can then replace their Skype contribution with the one they send you. Then they sound as though they are in the studio with you!
