Question

Why does "Insert Files" place a file at the end of a timeline?

More of a nuance than anything, but when I'm in the Multitrack Editor and I go to Multitrack -> Insert Files, and then located and "insert" my file, it places the clip at the end of the timeline, and Audition makes the timeline hours long.

I just go grab it, put it back at the beginning, and do a Zoom Out Reset.

In a perfect world, Audition would just place the clip at the playhead.

Has anyone experienced this, and how did you fix the nuance?

I'm using 13.0.10.32 version.

Thanks!

Common problem, this. If you go into Edit>Preferences>Multitrack Clips, the second item down says 'Use embedded timecode when inserting clips into Multitrack' and almost certainly it will have a check in it. If you remove the check, you'll find that your clips get placed according to the other settings on that page - and also where you left the cursor when you were previously in Multitrack view.
