Adobe Bridge - adding Keywords

I am running Bridge v13.0.3.693 on an Apple Mac Pro running OSX Ventura v13.4. When I add Keywords to a photo file in Bridge, I simply click in the Keywords Field, type the new keyword, type a semi-colon (;) and type the next Keyword, etc. Apparently, some of these new Keywords go into the primary Keyword section, but others go into the “Other Keyword” section. I did not realize this until noticing that many of my Keywords later show in a database program (NeoFinder) with the prefix “Other Keywords|”.
Exactly how do I add new Keywords so they do not get added to the “Other Keywords” section? Thanks! Mark Weidman

It sounds like you are entering the new keywords in the search box at the bottom of the Keywrods panel. Is that correct?
If so, the better way to do it is to click the "Add New Keyword" botton (+) at the lower right.
This will insert the kwyord in the list instead of adding it to "Other Keywords"

I just did a test, when I click on the “+” sign in the Keywords Panel, the new Keyword is created in the “Other Keywords” section. If I collapse the Other Keyword category and create a new Keyword with the “+” sign, Bridge creates the new Keyword in the primary category.

From my experiments, when Other Keywords in selected and new keywords are added to it via the IPTC Core panel or the Keyword panel the metadata is also saved as a Lightroom Hierarchical Subject value. This is where the “Other Keywords|” is coming from in your NeoFinder import.
You can check for this by opening File Info and clicking "Raw Data" on the lower left. Search for "Other Keywords" and see if this is there:
<lr:hierarchicalSubject>
<rdf:Bag>
<rdf:li>Other Keywords</rdf:li>
</rdf:Bag>
</lr:hierarchicalSubject>
I found that if I deselect Other Keywords and save the change, the "Other Keywords" is removed from hierarchicalSubject.
You might have previously selected Other Keywords and now it is always added when you add new words. Try deselecting it and see if it is removed.
Also, is it possible to change the metadata import settings in NeoFinder to only import specific metadata schemas? This will only help if you don't want Lightroom Hierarchical Subjects. You should confirm this, but your new keywords are probably being saved to both dc:subject and lr:hierarchicalSubject.
