New Here ,
Jun 24, 2024 Jun 24, 2024

After the latest update (14.1.1.274) Bridge states that it is 'Initializing video library' in the lower left hand corner, after which a circle start spinning. Nothing else happens after that. The app has been working great for many years. Help?

Hi, I'm having the same problem with Bridge. The program "sees" some files in the default "Pictures" folder on my hard drive for example but will not read files or folders on my desktop or any external drives. I'm running version 14.1.1 on a MacBook Pro with OS Sonoma 14.5

Hi @default37816883u9o4jz,

Thanks for sharing the details.

To further isolate this issue, could you please check the following

  • Is there any video/audio file on Desktop or external drive?
  • Please check in activity monitor, whether dynamiclinkmediaserver process is running or not
  • Please install Bridge 14.1 and check whether issue is reproducible or not.

Thanks,

Bridge Team

  • Is there any video/audio file on Desktop or external drive? On the desktop yes, on one of the external drives I'm trying to use no.
  • Please check in activity monitor, whether dynamiclinkmediaserver process is running or not. Dynamiclinkmediaserver does not seem to be running. See attachment.
  • . Please install Bridge 14.1 and check whether issue is reproducible or not. I have Bridge 14.1.1 installed. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. Should I try to step back to an earlier version?

Yay! Yes, adding Bridge to the Full Disk Option in security settings fixed the problem on my MacBook Pro. You may be interested to know that Photoshop and Premiere Pro set automatically to the Full Disk Option. Thank you!

Sadly this does not fix the problem for me on Mac with Bridge 2025. Oddly I cannot add Bridge 2024 (I can add it but it doesn't appear in the list after). But Bridge 2025 does add to the list okay.

On Windows I don't have the issue, Bridge works fine there. It is just on Mac OS.

Just to update, doing a Bridge reset (holding down Alt/Option key while opening it) seems to have fixed it for me.
