It is well-known that Bridge does not play well with cloud storage such as Dropbox which appears to be where your destination folder resides.

Try with a local drive instead and see what then happens.

What you have experienced is not uncommon. Some users have no luck with cloud storage, some have better success before it all goes wrong. There is no guarantee and it is not supported by Adobe I'm afraid.

Bridge is not changing the files. Try editing your Batch Rename settings so that the file extension isn't changed.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

Could you please share the following details about the issue:

  • Bridge version
  • System configuration - Mac/win
  • Is the issue specific to JEPG file format?

Please share the screen recording of the issue at sharewithbr@adobe.com

Thanks,

This happened to me as well. Same exact workflow I have been using for months, same type of raw photo files, same destination folder. I tried it multiple times and got the same result. Ended up having to add a "new extension" under the file renaming options to match the original raw photos extension. But this was not necessary before.

It's also changing the dimension of the photos, even though the workflow has no dimension changes on it.

The original file is 6240x4160, whereas the same file post workflow is 4416 x 2944. Still a perfectly usable resolution, sure, but there should be changes being made to dimension at all. I've attached a screenshot of the workflow for reference.

What i find strange is that this is the first time I have had any issues with it. I've used this same workflow with the same destination for tens of other shots, never with any issue.

Bridge cannot access cloud storage and can ONLY work with whats actually on your local drives. Cloud storage has two locations- your local drives, and the cloud servers. Those may or may not be in sync. Also, some cloud storage uses dummy files as local placeholders and only syncs the actual files as needed (some services go beyond that- Apple iOS can be setup to remove your apps if storage space is needed, and reinstall them when you want to run one.)

Unfortunately Adobe doesn't support Dropbox and cannot tell DB to sync local storage with the cloud. So you may get lucky and have the correct files on your hard drive.. or not.
