Batch rename images but preserve keywords

Hey all, I need to rename a lot of files. When I do Batch Rename in Bridge and then synchronize the folder in Lightroom Classic, all of the keywords are gone. Is there a way to rename files without removing keywords? Thanks!

Hi KCarlson,

The trick is to not do what you're doing. Anything you do outside of LRC (like in Bridge or the Finder/Explorer) is not known to LRC.

I STRONGLY suggest you do your renaming IN LRC (Library tab, Library menu, look for renaming). As far as keywording, it is best done IN LRC as well. Do a google search for how to set keywording in LRC, there are many videos and documents.

What you are doing will not work, so give up now and do it the way it's intended. Sorry.
