Bridge 2024 (Version 14), was released today. It is still painfully slow. Manually moving photos is a horrible task.
Luckily, Bridge 12 still works perfectly. If it ever stops working my entire workflow is in big trouble!
Hello @markf19643392 , @Tom-P
Thanks for reporting the concerns.
To further investigate this issue, it would be very helpful if you can share below information :
1. Desktop environment : OS details, RAM/CPU details
2. If its specific to file operations such as moving of files, would you be able to share the type of files that you are dealing with? Any sample files would also be super helpful. You can email them to sharewithbr@adobe.com
3. Is the slowness something that your are observing on

Thank you for responding. I just launched Bridge 2024 to do as suggested and it seems to be working now for some reason. I don't know why and I have not done anything since the problem. Previously I did 3 or 4 hard boot of my PC hoping to clear out any residual cache with no effect. To answer your question, I have 5 HDD connnected. As a curiousity, I tried hold Shift, Alt, Ctrl on opened Bridge and no dialog appeared. Just no reaction. Did I miss something? thx again.

Hi
You have to hold the keys untill Bridge start... then you get that window. When i had that problem it worked when i did that but if i closed Bridge and opend it again it froze again. I have 6 HDD and 12 partitions so it seems to be the problem for Bridge.... It is not our PCs that can't coope with Bridge, it is Bridge that can't coope with our PCs.

You're not kidding. I love the way Adobe deflects with asks about OS and Hdw. I have a 32 core ThreadRipper, 256G of Ram, RTX3090, and 8TB Raid0 (where my images and cache are). Power far beyond reason. This new Bridge takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r just to gen some thumbnails on a folder with onyl 110 pngs. Old version it was almost instant. I blew away the cache thinking just refresh. Nope. This is just horrible, untested, crappy code deployed to production by people who haven't got a flipping clue how to do their jobs. I have been a Systems Architect for over 25 years - if my teams deployed something like this I would first make them fix it - then I would term every one of them.

Yes, Bridge 2024 is incredibly unreliable. I cannot launch Bridge 2024 with any confidence it will work. Sometimes it works, sometimes it freezes after launching, not accepting any commands. I am now behind work due to this. It's a little better than playing the lotto, but not much. Adobe, pls fix this. I am paying you for a useable product. I would assume with all the resources you have, you would have tested this version thoroughly. Very disappointing. How can I uninstall 2024, and re-install the V12 version?

Are there any updates on this? I am running state-of-the-art Mac Studio. Eversince Bridge 2024, scrolling and selecting has been painfully slow and laggy. Can someone recommend where to report this to Adobe? I am going to disable automatic updates. This is unacceptable and is completely ruining my workflow and efficiency.

Seriously, we have the bottom of the barrel when it comes to customer support regarding Bridge. Not a single voice of reason from an official source comes here. Why even bother?

OK, Mac OS 14.4.1, Mac Pro 2019, 256 gb memory, Internal Pegasus R4I storage.......
What has Adobe done to Bridge? I echo the sentament here. This used to be a great tool. Now it is slow, and my great frustration is that for some reason the program will not read updates to the hard drive. Case in point, I moved new images to a folder and want tu use Bridge to get to CR and it does not acknowledge the new files. I am not sure what I have to do, reboot the system or what. I add another folder to the system and Bridge will not see it. I am a LONG time Adobe user and I have never seeen Bridge this bad.

Ok, I turned my MacPro off and back on and still Bridge will not load the new files to my folder. I am left to use Photo Mechanics.

Hi, @ERobicheaux, where is the new folder located? If it's on an external drive or the Desktop, you may be facing Apple's protection scheme that limits what applications can access unless you give them permission. Adobe has nothing to do with that.
So, where is the folder located, and have you permitted Bridge to access folders? (Again, this is an Apple thing, not Adobe.)

I'm so beyond frustrated. I had just finished editing everything and went to batch my files and it wouldn't let me without an update to 14.0.4. I updated and now it can't read any of my files. Like why let me edit everything? Who has time for this!? I was all set to finish this job and deliver images and now i'm stuck either having to start over or problem solving like i don't have anything better to do. Adobe needs to knock some money off for the time we lose with this.

Hi, @defaultvd82eehsnsys, can you please be more specific as what happened? Since you cannot edit files in Bridge, I'm not sure if you edited them in Adobe Camera Raw or Photoshop (or ??).
Also, where are the files located? Have you given Bridge access to those folders? (This would be an Apple thing, not an Adobe thing.)
Any information you can add to this might let someone from these forums help you.
