Bridge CC 2017 Crashes in macOS Sierra 10.12.3 Beta (16D12b)

Dec 21, 2016 Dec 21, 2016

Since December 20, 2016, Bridge has been crashing.  My setup is a MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 Beta.  The images I am working with are a combination of Nikon raw files and JPG files stored on an external hard drive.

For the record, I am using the latest versions of macOS Sierra and Bridge.  I have never had this problem before.

The crashes occur during the period when Bridge is crating thumbnails and getting the images ready for viewing.

When I restart Bridge, it takes me back to the last folder I was in BEFORE the crash.  After several tries Bridge may return to a stable condition.  If it crashes a third or fourth time, I have to close the program and restart the computer.

Any ideas?

Hi Deepak,

I didn’t even get to the stage for a crash report. I did however navigate and delete some workspaces which seemed to have done the trick - must have been something in it that was causing the program not to load. Seems to be all back up and running today.  Will let you know if the problem progresses.

Kind regards

Marie Henriquez

Hi Birdman,

May I know which version of Bridge are you using?

The latest.

When I click on “About Bridge,” it says: Bridge CC 2017 Release - 7.0.0.93.

Please Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Please let us know about the outcome.

I am having the same issue. I've tried resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling and still crashes - I can't even get past the launch stage!  Really frustrating, I'm running on Mac OS Sierra. One other staff member was having the same issue, however upon reinstalling all is working ok. We all have the same machines and cannot understand what the issue is.  Any other suggestions?

Really disliking this 2017 update - have found issues in Bridge, Muse and inDesign so far - not happy - especially paying a subscription for something that doesn't even work!

Hi Birdman49, dessein123,

Can you please provide the crash log (the report generated in the crash report dialog) so that we can investigate this further.

Thanks,

Deepak Gupta
