Bridge - MSVCR120 missing

New Here ,
Feb 26, 2017 Feb 26, 2017

I have used Photoshop and Bridge for years, I subscribe monthly to the cloud. Everything has worked fine all this time.

I recently bought a new camera Canon 7D Mark II (previous camera was just a 7D).  I tried to load my pictures into bridge for the first time from my new camera.  The pictures from my jpg versions are clearly visible (I always shoot in jpg and RAW), but the raw files aren't, they just showed as CR tiles. When I clicked on them I got a message saying that "if I was trying to open the raw files from my camera I would need to update", so I went into "help / update" and the computer started to update Adobe.  But now Bridge won't open at all and I now get the following message "The programme can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling it to fix it".

Help.......  I'm not very good with computers so don't know where to start to put this right.  I use Bridge all the time, now it won't even open.  I have a corporate photoshoot tomorrow and will need to start working on the pictures straight away so need to get this sorted asap.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Tracey

Hi traceym7Dmk2,

Can you please suggest which version of Bridge are you using, and what is your computer's operating system information. This will help us to investigate further.

You can check the Bridge version information from "About Bridge" screen.

Thanks,

Deepak Gupta

Hi Deepak

My computer is run by Windows 7.

Bridge won't open at all, the icons no longer work, either from the bar at the bottom or on my desk top, I've tried opening it up through Start / Programmes but it won't open from there either. It worked yesterday before I downloaded updates, since then, it won't open. I pay each month to Photoshop Cloud so as far as I know I am running the latest version. Where can I find out if it won't open?

When I try to open up Bridge, I just get the Bridge.exe - system error message below. You can see the icon at the bottom of the screen print below.......

Thanks

Tracey

Hi traceym7Dmk2,

Sorry for this situation. I suspect that Bridge installation is not finished properly. The missing file is included in Bridge installer.

Please try un-installing Bridge, restart your machine and reinstall Bridge CC 2017 from Adobe Creative Cloud Application.

Please let me know you feedback after this.

The msvcr120.dll is available though microsft's VC runtime installer at Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download...

Thanks,

Deepak Gupta

Hi Deepak

I have checked Windows updates and I already have Windows 7 Service Pack.

Last night I uninstalled Bridge and tried to re-install it but got the following message:

"Creative Cloud desktop failed to update (Error Code 72) Contact Customer Support"

I went through the process of shutting down and re-starting a couple of times but this didn't solve the problem.

What do I do now...?

Would it be easier if I rang you or you rang me then you can talk me through it, my number is: 07825 601119.

Thanks

Tracey

Deepak - are you there....!!!!!

We don't seem to be getting very far with my problem, you are not replying to my messages.

I'm starting to get really frustrated.

I can't ring your help line because its only open in the day when I'm at work and I need to be sat in front of my computer at home when I ring, so I'm stuck with having to communicate with Adobe like this.

Please respond because I really need to get this resolved.

Thanks

Tracey

Hi,

Also, please check if you have all the Windows updates installed. I heard of a similar issue with Photoshop. Please check following link for solution.

MSVCR120.dll is missing Windows 7 Photoshop CC 2015

Thanks,

Deepak Gupta
