BUG: Sorting by Dimension Doesn't Work Properly

Explorer ,
Feb 19, 2022 Feb 19, 2022

Sort by Dimensions (plural) in Bridge doesn't sort by taking BOTH dimensions into account. If I want to find the images with the longest side, then the sorting doesn't work. It only looks at the image height. In other words, at this time, it should be called SORT BY PIXEL HEIGHT. Example: An image with a pixel dimension (WxH) of 7360 x 4912 gets ranked as a smaller dimension than one with a dimension of 7184 x 5310 pixels. That's because it's comparing the 2nd dimension, the width. (This has nothing to do with RESOLUTION, and there's already a sort for that. That one's all about the total number of pixels, or Length times Width.

APPLICATION: I have a directory of digital images (scanned from film) and I want to rescan the ones that are at a lowest resolution.

Thanks for your help with this obvious bug.

I have the same problem with Bridge 2022 12.0.3.270.  Very annoying. I want to create a slidewhow for Instagram with images 1080x1080, so I'm trying to rule in./out the ones I need to modify.

Still no answers, here, after a year-and-a-half!
To clarify, the dimension is only based on pixel height, not the largest side.

I'm fully updated an yet for some biuzarre reason your fix hasn't worked AGAIN. Both the newest versions of Bridge and LIghtroom can't seem to sort images by dimension. Vertical images and horizontal images are blended together in some way that doesn't make any sense.

This has not been fixed yet. I find it ridiculous that so much time has passed since this issue was first raised.

I'm at version 15.0.3.525 and this issue STILL has not been fixed! It used to work - why would that option no longer work or be included? Or at least make the last version that DID work correctly be able to access the newer Photoshop. From a customer satisfaction standpoint this is a failing grade.
