Bugs in latest Bridge

I am relieved to see  others having probs with recent Bridge updates.  Thought I was losing it.  I now rate it zero to potential new users because unexpected issues can be fatal to data.  One mistake is enough.  1: since including full size thumbnails it is all SLOW even +12gb ram & big SSHD for C:  Thumbnails can take ages to visualise after an edit.  PLEASE GIVE US A BUTTON  TO KILL THIS USELESS FACILITY

2; was my ace sorting platform but untrustworthy and slow now - relocating folder content can FAIL to move several images so detailed check needed - using win file explorer now with poorer overview of images.  3: I regularly get a notice that some files "unavailable" to be moved  But can still see them and move them painlessly in Explorer but usually (not always) can open in PS and re-save from there.   Very silly.  Checking for complete file transfer -WASTES more TIME ++       4: some tool probs - use sharpen brush & cannot let go to move to next tool for ages  5: tool confusion especially move & select  - this has not occured in last 2 months though.  6: Saving an image as PSD before JPEG version commonly limits choice of file type and needs to be saved as a COPY as a clunky annoying workaround and can mess up file ID                Am I doing something wrong or are others familiar  and irritated by these probs?

It seems that by trying to be all things to everyone Bridge is limping as it used to in its early days..    Modern file sizes offer so much but don't help.  They will not go away!      JC

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. Could you please try resetting the preferences of Bridge and let us know if it helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html

Thank you for your suport Sahil!           I did go through preferences and change back to default piece by piece but  I may have missed something by not doing it en bloc as the intructions.  Since then speed has improved a lot  so I am on the right lines but one issue remains - when I choose a block of images to move as new or as relacement I get a colourful message appeared and reappeared for each frame "Cannot move........file no longer available".  Today that prevented all the  selected images from going across but yesterday it applied to the first few and the rest went.  No images had been lost from the donor file.  It is a Bridge problem, not Win explorer. You know it is easy to be knocked of track when shunting files around and hunting for lost files need full attention!  My wife just commented that she had had that message. She does not fiddle with settings!  We have been dedicated photshoppers since PS4!

I will do the recommended job as advised!!!

One of my issues is my fault resulting from "brainstem" habitual keyboard use for saving   - Ctrl Shift S when I want to save a version as jpeg after PSD (which lands me with the new irritating indirect way negotiating the mini 'save a copy' fiddle) instead of Ctrl Alt S.    At the first processing maybe my term version rather than copy is another challenging mindset!

Kind regards  John C
