hello. i am using a hassselblad H4D 31 and the changes i made in camera raw are not stored in Bridge.

For eample: I changed the colour of the background from black to green. When i store the picture in a tiff format or in JPEG the changes are not visable.

I look forward to your suggestions. Hans

Hi, @Hans 57

I've got a couple of thoughts, but I'm not sure which one of them might help you because I do not have a lot of information here. But let me try.

First off, I do not know if you are creating raw files or what from your camera. I will assume that you are creating raw files. When you make enhancements in ACR, the enhancements are stored in what is called a sidecar file. This is a new file with the same name as the raw. (If you convert your files to DNG, the sidecar files are contained within the DNG, so they are not loose in the same folder.) If the original file is separated from the sidecar file, the enhancements are essentially lost.

How are you generating the TIF or JPG files? Are you saving them out of Adobe Camera Raw, or are you opening the files in Photoshop to create the TIF or JPG versions? If you are doing the former, how are you doing that?

Lastly, for the record, what is your OS (and what release)?

Helllo Gary, Thank you for your reply. With the Hasselblad i make RAW files and ACR files. This raw file i opne in Caera Raw (CR). After I made changes I store the file as a Tiff File (and I tried JPEG) in the Cmera Row. If I opem bridge afterwards the stored file I can see buth without changes..

Hi, @Hans 57. When you finish enhancing the files, do you close the ACR window or open them directly into PS?

If you close the files, do you move the files to another location before you open them in PS?

Also, where are the images stored? On your computer or on an external drive?

A quick additional question: what is your OS (and what release)?

Hello Gary

Hi,  @Hans 57. When you finish enhancing the files, do you close the ACR window or open them directly into PS?

A: I do nothing with the ACR file. And I don’t use PS in this workflow.

If you close the files, do you move the files to another location before you open them in PS?

i don’t move the files to another location

Also, where are the images stored? On your computer or on an external drive?

The files are storend on a external drive

A quick additional question: what is your OS (and what release)?

I am using Apple on a iMac with the most actual OS Ventura 13.2.1

I'am also still seaching. Is it possible that the Hasselblad Version H4D 31 is not compattible with Camera raw ?

Hi Hans, Sorry I did not get this off to you earlier, but I was caught up in other things. You'll see this when you see it.

Yes, your camera is supported. I just checked here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

I seldom use the Convert and Save option in ACR, but I just tried it and I verified that it's working fine for me. So, let's see what the issue you're having is that it is not working for you.

I have a suspicion that you have not given Bridge and ACR permission to access an external drive. I'm not certain about this becuase if it was the issue, you could not access a file on the external drive—but you are. However, I'm wondering if you are not able to deposit the .xml file on that external drive.

Another question: when you close the raw file from ACR, and then you open it again, do you see your changes at that point?

Have you tried clicking the Open button in ACR to open the file in Photoshop and then generate the TIF or JPG file from there? If so, what happens?

Anyhow, if you have not provided Bridge permission to access external drives, here's how to do that (if you need this information).

Go into the System Preferences and select the Privacy & Security tab on the left, then select the Accessibility tab top.

Now, click on the "+" button on the very bottom which will open a Finder's window into the Applications folder. Select Acrobat Pro. Be sure to slide the On/Off button to On (to the right). You may need to enter your administrator's password at some point. You also may need to quit Acrobat and reopen.

Hi Hans, Sorry I did not get this off to you earlier, but I was caught up in other things. You'll see this when you see it.   HELLO GARY, THANKS AGAIN AND I ALSO WAS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL NOW. I WIL ANSWER YOU IN THE DOCUMENT YOU SENT TO ME.

Yes, your camera is supported. I just checked here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

MY CAMERA IS H4D 31 INSTEAD OF 40. THIS MODEL (31)  IS NOT ON THE LIST SO THAT MIGHT BE THE ROUTECAUSE FOR THE PROBLEM. I WILL CHECK THIS AGAIN ON AN OTHER RESOURCE OR QUESTION IN THIS COMMUNITY.

I seldom use the Convert and Save option in ACR, but I just tried it and I verified that it's working fine for me. So, let's see what the issue you're having is that it is not working for you.

I TRIED AND IT DIDN'T WORK NEITHER ON CONVERT AND SAFE AS ON STORE PICTURE (3 BULLETS ONN THE RIGHT SITE).

I have a suspicion that you have not given Bridge and ACR permission to access an external drive. I'm not certain about this becuase if it was the issue, you could not access a file on the external drive—but you are. However, I'm wondering if you are not able to deposit the .xml file on that external drive.

ALL MY PICTURES AND XML FILES ARE ON THE EXTRERNAL DRIVE. I HAVE NO PROBLEM TO ACCES THEM. HOWEVER I SEE THAT THERE IS NOT AN EXTRA  XMP FILE MADE AFTER THE CHANGES I MADE. SO THERE IS MADE AN EXTRA FILE WITH NO CHANGES AND IN AN OTHER FORMAT (JPEG,TIFF,DNG) AND NO EXTRA XMP FILE.

Another question: when you close the raw file from ACR, and then you open it again, do you see your changes at that point?

YES WHEN I OPEN THE FILE AGAIN IN ACR AND I CLICK ON THE ICON FOR MASK AND THEN BACKGROUND I CAN SEE THE CHANGED PICTURE.

Have you tried clicking the Open button in ACR to open the file in Photoshop and then generate the TIF or JPG file from there? If so, what happens?

I OPENED THE FILE IN PHOTOSHOP. MADES CHANGES EN STORED TE FILE IN THE SAME MAP WITH THE OTHER PICTURES AND THAT WORKED. I TRIED THE SAME IN LIGHTROOM CLASSIC, THAT DIDN'T WORK.

Anyhow, if you have not provided Bridge permission to access external drives, here's how to do that (if you need this information).

I GAVE PERMISSION TO ACCES THE EXTERNAL DRIVE ASWEL FOR LIGTROOM, BRIGE AS CREATIVE CLOUD. I HAVO NOADOBE ACROBAT INSTALLED (MIGHT THAT BE A PROBLEM ?

KIND REGARDS HANS
