Upon opening the find command the drop down functions in the opened Find window will not work. The "Look In" the "Criteria" and the "Match" will not change. I have reset and downloaded Bridge. Windows 10

Until yesterday I WAS trying to use BR Vers12.0.1.246 with a Dell PC running most recent update of Win10. Have spent time with DELL techs recently combing thru the machine for any issues and there are none with hardware or OS. Every Driver is up to date, the BIOS, the OS... Everything!

MY issues are similar with regard to FIND.   The ONLY way to find is to actually have the Folder with the image you want highlighted.  Before BR12.1.0.246 IT WORKED with just the main HD Folder highlighted... IF I ALREADY KNEW where the image was I WOULD NOT BE TRYING TO FIND IT!  Similar situation with trying to FIND via Keywprds.  Have to have a specific Folder highlighted.  I have thousands of images with Keywords for x-ref purposes.

Another issue with 12.1.0.246 is that in The PREFERENCES - THUMBNAILS -DETAILS > Additional lines of Thumbnail Metadata ... the boxes with the choices are locked and I cannot change anything to display with my  thumbnails

I have spent a cumulative 9+ HOURS in the past 10 days with Adobe Tech Support via Remote-in... ALL TO NO AVAIL.  BR has been uninstalled, re-installed several times.  The most recent support guy installed BR11.1.1.185 so I can keep working.

He says it is a Microsoft WIN issue and wants me to contact MS and wipe the drive and re-install Win 10.

First:  IS THERE ANYONE Alive who HAS a contact number for Microsoft Tech?  If so... please let me know.  Never have EVER been able to reach a human being there...

Second:  I will NOT wipe my drive and re-install the OS!    I don't have the intestinal fortitude necessary to do that ever again.  Been there-Done that dreaded 'clean re-install'.  I'd rather stick my head in a blender.

This is NOT  a Win 10 issue.  EVERY other App in my computer WORKS.  THIS IS  an Adobe BR issue.  12.1.0.246  works erratically.   BR 11.1.1.185 sorta works >>>>>>   EXCEPT NOW i CANNOT DO PHOTOMERGE because the app wants me to update to the most recent PS which IS already installed per Creative Cloud.  Even Creative cloud was uninstalled two days ago and re-installed.

Please will someone in Adobe take notice of us users who NEED to work on projects using BR and PS.  WE PAY for the app use... not for spending half our lives in tech support... PLUS... internet time costs extra $ if we are going thru remote-in for HOURS/ days!!!

Someone gotta fix this mess that is BR 12.1.0.246.  My  Adobe Acrobat Pro DC works flawlessly, Camera Raw works and PS works ... SO... Why can't BR??????

Have attached two screenshots showing the FIND Source boxs which are frozen and the Preferences > Thumbnail Details boxes which are also frozen.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the details.

Could you please share the windows 10(Pro, Home..)

As a workaround, you can use the up/down arrow keys to change the drop/down values

Thanks,

Using WIN10 PRO.

Here's the system info:
Thanks for the assistance with this...

As far as I am aware my Win10 Pro version 21H2 is the most recent update...
as are all the apps I use.

The most recent ADOBE tech Support person RE-installed BR back to Vers
11.1.1.185 This one allows me to use those dropdown menus BUT I cannot
get the App to do PhotoMerge.. i keep getting the message INSTALL LATEST
version of PHOTOSHOP to continue:

Creative Cloud says I have the most recent PS vers: 23.2.0

I've pretty much suspended my work with images at this point... Because
this vers sorta works... but the find capability is not as comprehensive as
it used to be.

Before BR2022 I could Highlight a Drive and search within the entire HD.
Now I have to highlight a folder where I think the image is... and then try
the Find.

ALSO, this version frequently seizes up, the screen goes grey and i have to
wait sometimes for minutes for the app to clear and function again.

Dell says that this machine is working perfectly. One of their techs has
recommend I UN-install Win10 Pro and RE-install it JUST TO SEE IF BR and PS
will work better.

THAT IS NOT AN OPTION... or one I really want to do... it takes a LOT of
time to re-load my apps and get back up to speed.

IF THIS IS AN Adobe issue then it needs to be fixed by Adobe without me
having to mess with the OS.

Workaround for you whilst Adobe investigates.  When you have the find box open, use the mouse to select the field you want to access and then use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu items.  When you find the right one, hit the enter key to bring up the criteria.  This will be slow and a PITA, but it will work.  Hopefully Adobe will find a solution sooner rather than later.  I also have many, many keyworded images and Collections to search.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, we are able to reproduce the issue. Team is investigating the same.

As a workaround, you can use the arrow keys to select the options from drop down or you can reduce the screen/display resolution.

Thanks,

I am not seeing this issue on Windows 10 Pro, there must be a different factor for those who are.
