How do I speedup Bridge writing metadata to files on server

I'm using the latest version of Bridge in a workgroup environment, with files stored on a server. When I select several images in Bridge and write the same keywords to the range of pictures, Bridge takes a very long time to complete the task. Tech support referred me to a forum session with a similar question. The reply stated that Bridge is not optimized for network performance and is designed to work directly on the local drive. This surprised me because so many users store files on a network. I could install Bridge on the server to make keyword changes, as the volumes are directly connected. Is there a better way? Thank you. Jim

Hi JimKPhoto,

We recommend to use SSD drives for optimal performance with large database. Bridge generate image cache and that plays a vital role in app's performance while writing data. Since, a network drive is not as optimized as a SSD, the rather slower performance is expected.

However, you may refer this article to know how to work with Bridge image cache to improve perforamnce: Work with the Adobe Bridge cache

Thanks,

Akash
