There used to be a plug-in or something for older versions - is this still the case? Could you share here if it is please?
Don't people use that as a function of sharing images quickly with people? I can't live without it, and the Photoshop action is so slow and awful and not what you need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the top menu - window - output settings. But still fasils to generate a PDF for unknown reasons.
(yes this is such a frustrating program) it took ages to find this after updating).

ok so I worked it out.
Top menu - windows - select output settings and output preview (blank sheet pops up) drag your selected images onto the blank sheet then go to the output setting window and generate your PDF.
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this is so stupid and unintuitive.

I am having the same problem. A 15-minute task that used to be easy and quick has now taken me an hour and I had to use Photoshop Contact Sheet II to get the task done.

I don't know what problem you are having, but I can produce a contact sheet as PDF in Bridge in about 15 seconds!
On one occasion I design the 'Output' process with my desired parameters (eg. A4, 3 columns 4 rows, Filename, margins, ppi, etc) then SAVE this as a Template Preset . You can save multiple Template presets.
Now my procedure any time in the future is this-
1) Select images for the Contact Sheet (in any view, eg. Light-table)
2) Click on [Output]
3) Choose my Template Preset
4) Drag the selected images from the filmstrip onto the 'preview' window.
5) Click the ((Export to PDF)), provide a filename and folder location.
Done. eg. 72 images on 6 pages of PDF.
