IPTC Import Issue

Recently there was an update to my Bridge software. Currently at version 13.0.0.562. Since the update import on the IPTC Cultural Heritage Metadata and the Metadata Deluxe add-ons have not worked.

Any suggestions on a fix? Is this just me or are others having this problem?

I created those scripts and I'm working on updateing them for Bridge 13.

If possible, revert to Bridge 12 for now.

@Dave259184398ptc I went through the scripts and found moslty cosmetic problems in Bridge 13 (UI component size, font size and style). 

In the Metadata Deluxe Custom Export/Import, the only functional problem I found was in the custom list window, the Move Up and Move Down functions caused Bridge to crash.

What problems did you have?

I'm using Windows 10. I'm affraid you are going to say you are using Mac, which presents a problem in that I no longer have a Mac to test with.

It seemed to run but after several hours nothing was added. I'd get the completed notice but nothing had changed.

I was adding titles.

How many files? Were they on a network drive?

I have noticed that the metadata in Bridge does not display after the script runs and I have to go to another folder and go back to refresh the display.

It might also be that there is a problem in the script writing to the title.

Are using the full IPTC Core fields or did you customize the field list?

Can you post a screenshot of your import settings?

About 1,300 files.

Refreshing or even exiting and openeing again doesn't make the metadata appear.

Using the full IPTC Core, nothing customized.

The files are on a seperate hard drive connected using USB.

That's a lot of files, but it should work on a USB drive.

Did any of the files get a white label "VRA metadata imported"

Can you try just a few files?

Do the files already have a title? I noticed that Write only to empty fields was selected.

Nope, none got the flag set.

Tried a few files and same result.

Last Friday I did export some files after I'd hand typed in the title. I noticed that the export now named the matching field File Name (required). Before it was only File Name. I've tried both in the CSV file and neither work.

Suggestions didn't help. I've contacted our IT folks and asked to be rolled back to 12. At the site to download the IPTC plug-in it shows a date of 2015. Is a newer version available elsewhere?

@Dave259184398ptc do you need the IPTC artwork fields or just Title? If not, you might want to use e a different plug-in I have. You can easily customize it to use just the fields you want. I have just finished updating it for Bridge 2023. If you would like to try it, send me a direct message here so we can share files and work out the details.

The IPTC plug-in does need an update, but I'm not sure how much demnd there is for it.
