Is it possible to set different sort orders for different folders?
I'd like to have some folders sorted by filename, others by date taken. However it appears when I set a folder to one of those, every folder then gets sorted the same way.
Am I missing something, or is what I want not possible?

Yes, sort order is saved on a per-folder basis. Turn on viewing hidden files in Finder/Explorer and you'll see .BridgeSort files.

Hmmm that's not working for me. If I set a folder to sort by filename, switched to another folder and set it to sort by date created, then when I go back to the original folder it's also changed to sort by date created. In fact as far as I can see, every folder has changed to that sort option. If I change the first folder back to sort by filename, all the others change to that as well.
I can't see anywhere under Preferences to alter that behaviour.

Your observations are what I have always seen for as long as I can recall. The "Sort by ..." setting is applied globally. Changing it is also applied globally. Perhaps the previous comment was in relation to manual sorting.

I have been dealing with this at work. I typically sort by Type because Mac Bridge sorts differently than Windows Bridge- on Windows, folders are on top whern sorting by filename but inline on the Mac. But when I DO want to sort by filename, I have to change every folder because they retain the previous sort by Type. This is almost every day so I'm really sure. The only different might be a change by platform? Or version? Im still on Bridge 12 not 14 and on Mac not Windows.
