Since turning on my computer this morning, I cannot open Bridge without "Unknown error; quitting application" appearing and I have to agree OK and quit. Bridge was working just fine when I closed it last night.
I've restarted my computer and the error remains. I've update Bridge to the latest version and the error remains. I'm using ....
Bridge v13.0.1
macOS Monterey Version 12.6
Please, what can I do to get Bridge working again?

It seems my harddrive was causing Bridge to show the error message. Bridge worked fine once I'd ejected the harddrive. Although no connections appeared loose, I unplugged and replugged all connections, restarted my computer and harddrive and, so far, Bridge is again working as it should.

@pennyg46156496 Some hard drives have S.M.A.R.T. software as part of the drive. I'll let you google for details, but basically, this is monitoring the temperature and a few other stats of the drive to look for abnormalities. It "may" detect problems before they occur, giving you time to back up the drive*, etc. I'm NOT saying that this is an absolute problem for you to expect; rather, I'm just letting you know about it so that if you wish to investigate, you can.
The catch is that you need to find some software that can access and read the data.
FWIW: I have three external hard drives: One is my primary storage of all images and important documents. A 2nd drive is a backup of the first drive. A third drive is used for Apple's Time Machine. All of these are important for drive failure but none of them are good for a major catastrophe. For that, I use a cloud service. Yes, I sleep at night. ;>)

Hi, @pennyg46156496 and @EarthArts the usual fix for such an issue is to recreate the preferences: hold CMD+ALT+SHIFT as you start Bridge. You should receive a prompt.
More info and tips can be found in this help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html
You can also try to install a previous version from the Creative Cloud application: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html
