Titles not saving in Bridge

Explorer ,
Sep 04, 2023 Sep 04, 2023

Question for those using Bridge to insert metadata.
When I input my titles from photoshop, it saves it in Bridge, but if I input it directly in Bridge, it doesn’t. However, it does save description and keywords if I input those directly into the Bridge.
Does it happen to anyone?
I already checked all of the settings and can’t find anything that would affect this 🤔

I haven't seen just the title not saving before.

How how you are entering the title, File Info panel, side metadata panel? Which section, IPTC Core, IPTC (IIM, legacy)?

Is there anything different about the title you are entering in Bridge (special characters, tbs, line breaks)?

Are you directly entering the title or using copy-paste?

Hi, thank you for your answer, yes, now that you mentioned, it doesn’t save it when I copy and paste it there. When I write it myself, it does save. But why though? Is there any way around it?

My guess it there is a hidden character in the text you are copying. This happens a lot if you copy from a web page.

Try pasting the text in a plain text notepad app and it might be obvious (gap at the end of the line or blank line above/below).

Can you paste the text here? I might be able to see what the issue is.

A portrait of rare Chinese Crested Dog

Hi, here I copied and pasted it straight from my photo on Adobe stock to be pasted in Bridge.

If paste it there in the title, it will not save, only in the description. I dont see anything unusual with this text, like you are saying the reason might be, so I'm still puzzled

Ok, just read your first reply and opend the side metadata panel on the left, IPTC (IIM, legacy), insted of the usual  file info panel, and it worked, its saving there! Thank you so much for your help, its still weird though that it should be happening.

So the file info panel is more picky, which should be fixed. Which section in file info were you using, Basic or IPTC Core?

I'm using Windows so I can't track down the cause, but I'm sure that there is some hidden character in the text you copied from Adobe Stock.

I used to just right click on the image and go down to File Info, not sure what section it is.
And it would be happening every time I would be copying and pasting titles from my Adobe Stock images, not just this particular one.
but anyway, you helped me figure out the way to make it work for me, so thanks again! 😊
