Unable to view preview from 'Alias Files' in Adobe Bridge

Ciao Adobe Community,

I have created 'Alias' from various RAW files. The issue is that I am unable to see their preview on Bridge. Does anyone had the same problem?

I hope it makes sense and that some of you can help me to solve this issue. Thank you so much in advance! 🙂

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried resetting Bridge's preferences and see if that helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html

Sahil

Hey Daniele5E81, did this suggestion solve your problem?
I am not sure if we're having the same issue, but I would like to preview an alias (a small file that represents an original file saved elsewhere) within Bridge (Mac). I need to know if this is possible, or if I should give up on the idea. If anyone can answer it would be appreciated.

Geez, looks like a year's gone by and no one has an answer. I've just discovered this problem while trying to figure out a method of building some image galleries on an external drive. I'm running the same combo Bridge 2019/2020 on a High Sierra iMac (haven't upgraded due to a key incompatible app). It would be nice to find out if the alias can provide a preview icon, or if I should abandon that approach. It just seems unnecessary to have to copy entire files over, when aliases should be able to just point to them. I can just spacebar tap in the Finder and the link is immediately resolved and the image displayed, so it seems like it should be resolvable. I'll drop a note here if I discover a means to make it work.

Don't have an answer to viewing image aliases in Bridge, but have the same question/need.
