Hi IDeStrUcTi0n:

I use Bridge as an alternative file browser—meaning on a Mac, an alternative to Finder, and on Windows, an alternative to Explorer—and I use it to manage my files on my hard drives.

In addition to using Bridge to locate and organize my files, I use Bridge:

  • to search for photos that match specific keywords, or other metadata
  • to quickly review a series of photos: marking the best ones with stars and discarding the bad ones
  • to batch rename a series of photos moved off a camera to represent the subject in lieu of names that are a series of random numbers
  • to view at the pages of InDesign and Acrobat files without having to open them, to pinpoint the correct version
  • to view the linked images on my InDesign documents

There are so many ways to use Bridge, those are just a few of the ways that I find the application invaluable.

Bridge is my one of my favorite apps. I use with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Sometimes I use with all by itself.

I can have more than one window open to organize files

It just knows which application to open a file in when I double click on it

I can create collections to put projects together

Learn it, it's simple to learn and super handy.
