UI Lag

Hello😊
the new UI for after effects has problems when I try to move a layer, moving the time indicator(head) in the time line, even the guids from the ruler.
If there is any info you want me to previde, I am here

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have been investigating similar reports from others using After Effects 25.x (both release and Beta), but we've been unable to reproduce this lag in-house thus far.
Would you be able to provide your system specs? 

  • Windows version
  • CPU
  • RAM (memory)
  • GPU
  • GPU memory
  • GPU driver version

 

Additionally, could you share an application log? Follow these steps to create one:

  1. Select "Enable Logging" in the Help menu
  2. Quit and relaunch AE (as prompted)
  3. Create a comp, move a layer, move the Current Time Indicator, and move a guide in the comp.
  4. Quit After Effects.
  5. Go to C:\Users\<yourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\<version>\logs
  6. Share the After Effects Log.txt file as a link (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc), ideally via DM in the forums since it will contain file paths.

Hi @ahmed hamed elsaid, thank you for patience and for mention.

 

In looking at your specs and the log file, I see a couple possible culprits for the slow down. Please try the following and let us know if it makes a difference to the lag:

  1. There is at least one ScriptUI panel being loaded when After Effects starts. If you remove that panel from the workspace, does the performance improve?
  2. Separate from the script, does AE's UI performance improve if you disable your internet device or disconnect from the internet?

Thank for that update, @ahmed hamed elsaid. Does the release version also show the black comp windows now, or does it only show the UI lag?

 

Additionally, is your project using Mercurcy GPU acceleration in the Project Settings under Video Renderer? I would wonder if this is related to a GPU driver version.

for the release version, I get only the UI lag problem.
in the beta, I get only the black comp problem.
I was using mercury gpu acceleration and I tried to switch it to software, but the blackcomp problem still occures.
