Installation Into hard drive

So the apps aren't going to the hard drive i have designated to it. For some reason or another they keep going to the hard drive that is full. I've changed the designation to the empty hard drive and try to download yet it keeps telling me it's full. i have 4tb of space left in the hard drive so i know it's something wrong with the app. how can i fix this issue?

how much space is left on your os drive?  you need a fair amount even when installing elsewhere.

Eh just ended up deleting and canceling since i can't get it to go to my other hard drives and it wants to use the OS drive which literally has 55mbs.
