Bugs in Adobe Photoshop 2024

While I'm using Adobe Photoshop 2024 I've observed a issue with in the Document Presets. When I want to take a new preset document espcially Print related, the document color mode is still showing in "RGB". As per the print standards Print related docuement color mode should be "CMYK". Please check and suggest. For your reference attaching the screenshot.

You need to align your expectations with what Photoshop provides, not what you expect. I explained how templates work above.

 

What you are getting is expected behaviour, not a bug just because the templates are in the Print category. I can and do print in RGB.

 

Save your settings a a preset, then select from the Saved category:

 

 

There is still no such thing as a "standard" print process. You always need to ask the printer what color space they want. There is no generic "CMYK". You need to know what specific CMYK profile to use.

The Photoshop default, US Web Coated SWOP, is not valid anywhere outside the Americas, and even there it may not be correct.

If you prepare in whatever CMYK profile you happen to have as your default, there are good chances it's not the correct one, and then you're much worse off than if you still had your RGB master file to convert from.

In short, I still don't think this qualifies as a bug. A generalized "Print" preset, lacking any further specifications, should be in RGB mode. CMYK is for special processes for special purposes. And even so, you rarely output, say, a TIFF for offset print directly from Photoshop. You'd most likely place it in an InDesign file and output a press-ready PDF from there.

Thanks for the explaining. I am not using any Inkjet printers. Just as per the Print standard and the best practises of the preset usage all the specifications should be match. If the document for Print/Digital all the options must be as per their standard. Any how if we take print of the RGB color mode design in those printers the output colors may different.

Since your preset is "A4" this seems to be for a standard inkjet printer? Inkjet printers are RGB devices that expect RGB data. All inkjet print profiles are RGB profiles.

CMYK is strictly for commercial offset print processes, books, magazines etc to be published in large print runs.

Thanks for the reply on my query. But as per my observation after changing the color mode in to CMYK, if we click on any "Web" or "Photo" etc., preset the document color mode changing to RGB, even the resolution also changing as per the digital standard. (ex: 72 Pixels/Inch). But in the print preset only resolution changed to 300 Pixel/Inch... color mode still in RGB 😞

The templates popuplates only the dimensions, not the color mode, when you select one.  Select the color mode and the profile you require after selecting the temptalte.
