Some files saved as JPEG have Temporary attribute flagged

A very nasty bug first picked up in a recent Photoshop Beta has now made it's way into the full production version. Here is the bug discussion from the Beta forum: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-beta-discussions/files-saved-for-web-have-the-temporary-attribute/td-p/14039550

 

Essentially sometimes JPEGs are saved with a file system attribute called "Temporary" on Windows PCs toggled to On. Whilst most users won't notice any difference, for some it is a potentially highly disruptive problem, as some of the more enterprise-level components of Windows Server treat Temporary files very differently. In our case it means they are completely ignored by Windows Server's Distributed File System, which is a bit of a disaster. In other cases they will be ignored by backup software.

Originally it affected the Beta of Photoshop v25.0, it has now made it's way into the release version of both 25.0 and 25.1 at the very least

 

Please can Adobe look into this as a matter of urgency!

    Hi again,

    I have found a temporary solution to my Syonology synchronization problem. I leave it here in case anyone can help.

    I simply went to Synology options and checked a box that says "sync temporary files and folders". This syncs the images with a temporary attribute.

    Anyway, this is not a definitive solution. Adobe should check why it sometimes attributes a temporary attribute to some JPGs.

    Hello, I have the same problem...

    I have two PSDs the same but when I export a JPG in one of them it adds an ATPU attribute and in the other one it adds only the A attribute. In my case I have problems to upload files to the Synology of the company because the temporary files are not synchronized and it is a nuisance.

    Hopefully Adobe will find a solution soon or tell us what we can do!
