P: 'duplicate' is greyed out and not working. Fixed in build 56

Hi, the 'duplicate' function in the project panel doesn't work anymore, it is greyed out and also cannot be invoked via the keyboard shortcut.

- this applies to any item in the project panel: sound, sequences, ect.

- this applies to the context menu (RMB) as well as the edit menu

- the keyboard shortcut does not work either (CMD+Shift+/)

Tested in:

Premiere Pro (Beta) 25.1.0.050 (2024-10-16)

MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)

Also tested in

Premiere Pro 25.0.0 (Build 61) where it works fine.

As a precaution I also disabled the MacOS keyboar shortcut for invoking the help search, which is CMD+Shift+/ as well, but this doesn't affect the problem.

Further testing showed:

- duplicating in the project panel via CMD+drag works

- duplicating in the timeline via Opt+drag works

Best, Andreas

I was working in beta version for 3 days. Everything was fine until now. But today I can not duplicate my sequences. My shortcut is not working for duplicate and I tried duplicate sequence via right click but the option is not clickable. Has anyone encountered a problem like this before?

Duplicate Sequence is greyed out both in right click and edit menu. Tried restarting, clearing cache, doesn't fix it. Greyed out for existing sequences and new sequence.

Just updated and opened the latest Premiere Pro Beta 25.1.0, and the "Duplicate" button is permanently grayed out. When opening a project, I can't duplicate any sequences or folders. That works in the non-Beta version of CC25, so I'll go back to that until this is resolved. I use duplicate quite a bit.

The "duplicate" function is disabled on clips in bins. I use it a lot to edit clips without altering the originals within the project

The program tells you if there is an update available. There is nearly an update every day.

Check the CC desktop app.

Also, when you open the Beta version, it tells you in a prompt at the bottom of the screen that there is a newer version available.

Make sure CC app is up to date and hit Search for Update once in a while.

I'm having the same experience as Andi. My CC is up to date, I've done the search for updates, it is not showing any new updates for beta beyond .50.

Hi Jamie, confirmed, Build 56 shows up in the CC app on MacOS and 'duplicate' works again. I checked via right click in the Project panel as well as the menu option. Thanks!

New to PP, moving from AVID. My duplicate is still grayed out. When I click "About Premiere Pro" under the Premier Pro tab, it says version 25, build 61. So it apears I am up to date.

@jack_0105

the issue and fix refers to the beta 25.1.0 build 56 and up

You are most likely using the public version 25.0.0 build 61
