P: Denoise AI and Pentax K3 MKIII DNG files - not working

@thix2112I know. It seems like only the models with the built-in "accelerator chip" are affected.

Denoise appears to work on some Pentax cameras, just not all models. 

@thix2112 Thanks for the info. So there IS software where AI denoise works with modern Pentax cameras? Good to know.

So, since this issue hasn't been resolved for almost 2 years now... any update on the status? Is this still being worked on or has Adobe abandoned Pentax-users?

I've given up waiting. Moved to On1 NoNoise AI in On1 Photo Raw. Works pretty good. My workflow is still with Lightroom Classic, but if I need to improve noise processing I jump over to On1. Seems to work better than DXO.

I feel like Ricoh should be responsible for the fix, or at least let us know its plan on whether or not this will be fixed at all. The Pentax KP was probably the first camera with the so-called accelerator unit, which baked noise reduction into the raw file, and that camera has been discontinued already and still not fixed by Ricoh. I hope Ricoh is still working on a fix, considering this AI denoise is relatively a new thing. At the very least, Ricoh could give an announcement on whether this can be fixed through a firmware update. The current workaround I have is to shoot at ISO 100 at all times and pull the exposure and denoise in Lightroom.

Sigh... it's already Oct 2024 and in the latest Oct update for LRC, denoise is still not working for the Ricoh GR3x. I'm considering switching over to the newly released DxO Photolab 8 or using DxO PureRaw 4. I used the trial version and the denoising effect is very good (for my purpose/camera).

I gave up.
