My PC Windows has 10 updated. I use CS6, Bridge 5.0.0 and ACR 9.1.1 I use DNG converter 10.1 which works fine. The problem is that when I install DNG 10.2 the programme does not open up. The little blue circle rotates for a few seconds but then disappears. Your help greatly appreciated.

Update:  We believe we have found the root cause of the issue that some of you are experiencing with running DNG Converter 10.2 on 64-bit Windows.  This will be fixed in our next update.  In the meantime, the link that David posted to the Visual C++ Redistributable should work.

Thanks for your patience.

If you have this problem please try installing Microsoft's Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

Available for download at this URL:

Same here. 10.2 does not work om Windows 10. Unfortunately I have only 8.7, which is of no use anymore and 10.2 Cannot find 10.1 anywhere

64 bit Windows 10 pro. I found 10.1 too. 10.1 installs in Program Files (x86) and works. 10.2 installs in Program Files (64 bit) and fails.

Leon, the version installed in "Program Files (64 bit)" should be in this path:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe DNG Converter\Adobe DNG Converter.exe

Also, inside that path, there should be to .dll files (tbb.dll and tbbmalloc.dll).  Can you please confirm that (1) this is the path you're using to launch DNG Converter, and (2) that both .dll files are present?

Eric, I have exactly the same problem as reported above.  64 bit Windows 10 pro, fully updated, just tried installing 10.2 and it fails to launch.

After installing, the .exe file and the two .dll files are located as you suggest.

As I have an earlier download of DNG 9.12, thought I would uninstall 10.2 and try 9.12.  Interestingly, no version of DNG Converter is listed in Control Panel/Programs and Features so uninstalling is not an option.

What do you suggest?

Delete your old DNG version from the programs folder on the C; drive

Yep, same again here. 10.2 fails to launch on my fully updated Win 10 64-bit platform. Had to update to 10.1 - which is fine - from my current 9.6.4 when it failed to convert files from my newly firmware updated OMD -EM1 II. What a rigamarole. Any feedback from Adobe? Poor show!

same issue here. looks like prior versions are 32bit. This one 64bit. you will find exception errors in the application eventlog. (kernelbase.dll)
To check if the installer installs in the wrong folder I copied the whole map to Progarm Files (x86).
same issue. Unfortunately my new camera is only supported from 6.2 on..  Can't use raw files while this issue isn't solved.

Fred, Use the link David posted above and install 10.1. That one seems to be a 32 bit version and works

Thanks Leon. I know the problem is not in 10.1 but that version does not support my camera. I need 10.2, so currently I'm not able to use RAW files in Pshp or Lightroom.. ;(

Maybe this has to do with the version of windows 10?

For example, photoshop 19.1 won't run on win 10 versions after a certain version/update.

Hi Jeff. 11.3 worked fine, but I have this issue with 12.2. The same vc_redist fix made it work again.

I tried to install the visual C++ as well and it still won't open version 12.2. It seems that 12.2 is the only version that will open the .cr3 files. is the DNG converter the only program available to convert these files, that you know of?
