Photoshop raw applying preset automatically

I can't figure out how to get photoshop raw to stop automatically applying a preset to whatever image i drag into photoshop..

ACR is a different raw processing engine than the one in the camera firmware. ACR will not match the camera-processed jpeg, and it's not supposed to. That's just how the camera manufacturer thinks the image should look . Any other raw processor would produce yet other different results.

 

ACR opens the file with whatever default settings you have set. If you want other defaults, change them. Beyond that, the sliders are there to be used.

 

There is no such thing as an "original" raw file. The sensor data always need to be processed and interpreted to produce a recognizable image. The point of shooting raw is that you can produce your own interpretation.
