Still Can't Open Files in PS from Camera Raw

Contributor ,
Dec 11, 2022 Dec 11, 2022

My apologies, but I can't find my original post.

I'm still not able to open photos to PS from Camera Raw.

I click "open" and PS opens but no files appear.

I'm running  Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.0.1 20221111.r.112 a12a934 x64

Bridge v. 13.0.0.562

Windows 10.

This is quite unacceptable.

Is it me?

Thank you.

Try resetting the Camera Raw preferences:
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Thank you. When I hold down Ctr key, nothing happens. When I go into PS>edit>preferences, there is no dialog Re deleting CR preferences.

I must be missing some step.

Nothing happens when I click Alt, either.

Okay, so I see that I must be in camera raw while clicking Alt/reset. Still, not much happens.

It basically gives me the option to reset the settings I applied to the images, nothing about preferences

In Photoshop, position your mouse pointer as in the screenshot below.

Press the Control key and click.

Then click Yes in the dialog that appears.

Thank you, but that didn't fix it.

There was a similar bug in Bridge 13.0.

If you update to Bridge 13.0.1 using the Creastive Cloud Desktop Application, does that fix your issue?

In Bridge go to Help>Updates.

I have the most recent versions of Bridge and PS, have closed, reopened, restarted, still does not work. What is happening now is when I click on "open" from Camera Raw, CR closes, takes me back to Bridge, but PS does not open at all. Previously PS was opening but the photo never appeared.

So the issue only takes place with Bridge hosting ACR?

Correct. Up until about a month ago I could send a photo to PS by clicking "Open." Now I have to save the image via Camera Raw, then go into PS and open the file from there.

This sounds like the old (few weeks ago) Bridge bug. You might want to uninstall then reinstall it using Adobe Creative Cloud app. If it still doesn't work, best to report this to the Bridge forum where the Bridge engineers should be looking at this.

Being able to open a photo directly from PS is a major part of my workflow. I can't believe there's no fix for this.
