A beginner looking for simple and step-by-step tutorial about interactions

Hi! I'm a newbie here. Please is there any step-by-step tutorial about creating interactive educational material. I need to get acquainted with using shapes, buttons, variables and conditional actions. I have also no idea about Jquery and strings   since my computing skills are just below the basics. I really need your advice and help. (PS: am using Adobe Captivate 9). Thanks

    there's no one best place for free out there, but Lynda.com has a whole learning path about Captivate:

    And there are tons of YouTube how-to videos.

    Start above then just websearch as you encounter processes you're still not clear about...

    Thank you so much for replying. I found those websites extremely helpful and I started building my educational projects and courses using Captivate9.

    However, there is one problem that I have been facing, which is downloading the assets. I don't have internet connection at home because I work in a remote area in my country. So, I wanted to download as many assets as possible, especially Cutout people to be used in interactions. However, it turned out to be a tedious and time-consuming thing to do since I have to download each character by itself. Is there any way to acquire Cutout people assets at once?

    You are asking for a complete training: newbie, intermediate and advanced? There are certainly videos, blog posts etc online.  However I strongly recommend to start with real basics. leave the advanced actions, JavaScript and JQuery for much later.

    Once I summarized what the big stumbling blocks are for Newbies. Try to master those, google for content concerning them. Have a look at this blog post (it is not a step-by-step tutorial):

    Start with normal, non-responsive projects. Check out the exact version number: the latest version is 9.0.2.437. Earlier versions had more bugs.

    I am busy finishing a workbook about Variables (will have step-by-step tutorials), but I don't recommend it for newbies. Try first to understand the Timeline, the Quizzing and Themes. You can download several tables from my blog (it has a search function): system variables, quizzing variables, learning interactions, events....
