adobe captivate 9 - text to speech

Hello!

I have used the record function to record a how to demo for a customer. (Software simulation)

I want to be able to use the text to speech function as it is too noisy here to record my own voice.

BUT I cannot figure out how to do this in captivate 9 - all tutorials seem to be for earlier versions which are leading me nowhere.

Help??

*I do not have the option to go to audio - speech management. That is what all the tutorials have tried to tell me to do*

cpvc - sorry about that!

TTS is not available in the video editor for cpvc-files. Workaround: create the audio clip in a cptx project, with the work flow described above. You can add the audio clip(s) to the Library in the cpvc project (dragging or importing) and then add to the video. The toughest part is the synchronizing of course. If it is a long video, I would recommend to split it up in shorter video clips in a logical way and create/import an audio clip to each video clip.

tips! I'm recording screen/mouse actions in .cpvc file and importing it into a .cptx file. Then on the imported slide (in.cptx) I insert text-to-speech verbiage. All successful.

Now, my question is, can I edit the Text to Speech timeline? It doesn't appear to be an 'audio' timeline. What I'm trying to do, of course, is synchronize. Just a pause here and there.

Worse case, I could enter them into the Speech Management, but would like to know if I can do on the timeline. Thank you! K-

Nothing has changed, the old tutorials should be valid.

Open the Slide Notes panel, add notes, click on TTS checkbox, the button Text To Speech, choose voices, and Generate Audio

I think the problem is that I've created a software simulation so there is no "slide". If I create a regular project - I do have the option to go to audio - speech management.

Is it not possible to do it within a software simulation? I would think this would be a functional tool since it does involve speech?

Are you sure you are in a software simulation? I suspect you did create a Video Demo which is a totally different type of project, has the extension cpvc (not cptx) and can only be published to video.
