Adobe Captivate 12.4 is here!
While 12.3 is still fresh, we're excited to unveil this new update, packed with features designed to elevate your eLearning development. Version 12.4 introduces exciting improvements such as question pools, simulation upgrades, direct publishing to Adobe Learning Manager, enhanced padding controls, customizable project dimensions, file hyperlinking, and resizable hotspots. Let’s dive into these innovations and see how they can enhance your content creation in Adobe Captivate!
Adding Question Pools to your Project:
With question pools, you can build a collection of questions that your quizzes can pull from randomly. You can set up different pools based on difficulty, topic, or objective, and then choose questions from those specific pools to add variety to your quizzes. This approach makes sure learners are tested on a wide range of topics or skills. Plus, since each person gets a unique set of questions, it makes it tougher for them to share answers.
Simulation Enhancements:
New Recording Pod:
With the new recording pod, you have full control to play, pause, cancel, or end the session during your recording.
Manually Capture Additional Screenshots:
With the new recording pod, you can easily capture extra screenshots during your recording.
Add Simulation Components to Your Full-Motion Recording (FMR) Slide:
Full-motion recording (FMR) slides work like videos, capturing everything happening on your screen. You can now add simulation components to your FMR slide.
Enhanced Padding for Components and Blocks:
Padding is the space between your content (like text, images, or buttons) and its border. It gives your content some breathing room, helping avoid a cluttered look. When used right, padding creates a cleaner, more polished design and improves the user experience by making interactive elements easier to click, reducing accidental selections.

Managing Project Dimensions:
With Adobe Captivate 12.4, you can easily tailor your eLearning project dimensions to create a more user-friendly experience. This update gives you the flexibility to choose from predefined sizes or set custom dimensions, making it easier to optimize content for larger screens and enhance the overall viewing experience.
Direct Publish to Adobe Learning Manager (ALM):
Seamless integration between Captivate and Adobe Learning Manager, ALM (Adobe’s learning management system). You can now publish your course directly to ALM’s content library, from within Captivate, at the click of a button.
Include Hyperlinks to Files Within Your Course:
Maintain a smooth and well-structured learning experience by enabling learners to easily access additional materials, such as PDFs, documents, or multimedia files, without leaving the course. Hyperlinks also improve performance by reducing the file size of your eLearning project.
Resize Hotspots:
Create a more accessible and user-friendly interface for your hotspot interactions by resizing your hotspots to be easily recognizable and easy to engage with. Make your hotspot interactions more user friendly by resizing the hotspots.

I see the 30-day trial link on the Captivate download page, but I don't see the download for existing accounts. Is there another link I should use?

When will Captivate be compatible with Mac OS 15 (Sequoia)? We haven't fully migrated yet from classic to v.12 (mostly because of all the customization we use) and have projects going in both versions. Our IT group is pushing for us to upgrade and we need some information to back up our request to NOT upgrade yet.

Hi Saurav_Ghosh, does that include both the Classic and v.12 versions or just the new one? Thanks for clarifying!

Following up on this. Any decision yet about supporting Captivate classic in Sequoia? I need to know by March so we can not upgrade our systems if it is not going to be compatible
