Best way of getting Edge Animate animation into Moodle course

New Here ,
Sep 04, 2013 Sep 04, 2013

Hi,

I've created an animation in Edge Animate CC and I'm trying to embed it into a Moodle 2.4 course.

I've tried a few things:

  • Adding it as an HTML5 file directly to Moodle
  • Copying the HTML5 code into a Moodle page
  • Importing it into Captivate 7
  • Using the Captivate App Packager

So far, I've been stymied at every turn. Can someone help please? What's the quickest way to get an Edge Animate CC animation into Moodle?

Thanks,

Kyle.

Hi Kyle ,

You can add an Edge Animate CC animation to moodle using captivate App Packager . Here are the steps .

1) Publish HTML5 content from captivate .

2) Open the content in Captivate App Packager and add Edge Animations to it .

3) Publish the changed content from App Packager by selecting the 'CP' checkbox during publish .

4) Zip the published output and upload it to moodle .

Could you please check if it works for you .

Thanks,

Phani Shekhar M .

Thanks Phani.

That was one of the approaches I tried - I got stuck on step 2 🙂

No matter what I tried to open in the App Packager (v.2.5), I received a message saying it was 'not a valid course'. Any thoughts?

Regards,

Kyle.

Kyle, did you start with a Captivate published course to HTML?

Hi Lilybiri.

My preference is to go straight from Edge Animate to Moodle. However, I did try importing a Captivate 7 course in several different formats (inc. HTML) into the App Packager - no luck.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to solve both problems: 1. Edge Animate --> Moodle 2. Captivate course --> App Pacakger

Thanks.
