How can I enable bookmarking that enables learners to choose where to start from when logging back in in CP6 without using the TOC?

Hi there,

If you want the bookmarking without using TOC, then If you are using an LMS, you can enable the reporting and click on advanced (Quiz > quiz preferences > Reporting) and ensure that never send resume data is unchecked.

Thanks.

Thanks Varun. The other issue is that I want the learner to get that pop-up asking whether he wants to start from page last visited. Send resume data doesn't give you that option?

I have the same question as Oluolu.

I would like a pop-up asking whether he wants to start from the page last visited. Is that possible?

Did you ever get a response to this question?  I can't get C6 to bookmark correctly either and have tried everything listed in these posts.

Paul -

I wish I did!

I use Cornerstone for my LMS and Captivate 6.

The workaround I use is to have a link on the last page. The link allows the participant to return to the first page of the course. Unfortunately, I am not able to track how many times a participant takes the assessment.

If you have another workaround, I'd be interested in learning about it!

Thanks!

If your "link on the last page" of the course just jumps the learner back to the first slide, this will not of itself allow them to re-attempt the assessment.

To reset the quiz you need to have the learner click the Retake Quiz button on the Quiz Results slide.  You can track how many times the person attempts the quiz via one of the quizzing system variables called cpQuizInfoAttempts

But this will only give you the number of times they attempt the quiz within the Captivate lesson during that particular session.  If they close down their session then the variable is wiped.

As far as your LMS is concerned, it's measuring the number of attempts to successfully complete the actual e-learning module SCO, not the number of attempts on the quiz WITHIN that SCO.

In Cornerstone the trick is to use the LMS to enable retaking the course materials, and turn the 'retake' options off in Captivate.
