Button Issues

Hi,

I am creating a presentation within Captivate. I converted a PowerPoint into captivate, created Knowledge Checks and a file quiz. In order to make it easier for them to go to the next page, I created "Next" buttons. Oftentimes, the user will have to click the Next button 2-3 times before the slide continues. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

Also, some of my animations (text flying in, appearing, etc.) will stop mid-animation (text will stop mid-flying in although there aren't those problems in PowerPoint). Is there a way to fix that too?

Best

Patrick

You clearly have issues with pausing points on the slide. Unless the PPT import (never use that myself) is co-responsible: if you asked to use clicks to advanced when importing, and/or have more clicks scheduled for animations in the PPT that will also cause that type of problems.

Maybe have a look at this article about pausing, and/or post a screenshot of the timeline to allow me to check for pausing points:

Please, a screenshot of the Timeline, that is where you can see the pausing points (did you look at that article?). Personally I recommend understanding the Timeline to be the first priority for Captivate users as you can see in my latest post:

Challenges for Starters - Captivate blog

I was not talking about a Pause button, but about the pausing points that by default are inserted when you create buttons. Look in the Timing Properties panel. If you post a screenshot of the Timeline, I can explain with a real example.
