Cache clearing still a problem in Captivate 12

Have a user who 'accidentally' cleared the cache folder in the preferences trying to speed up the program, now NONE of their files will run. (jsut has the loading circle spin for over an hour on a 10mb file.) Their actual document folder was untouched, only the cache folder was deleted.  Captivate still opens and seemingly works when you create a new project, but it won't open any of the files created in it previous to the cache being cleared.

Captivate 12.1.0.16 on MacOS Ventura 13.5.2

I'm going to try a re-install and see if that helps.

Can you tell if the folder was deleted, or the Cache was cleared using the button in Preferences, General settings? The cache folder is essential for running Captivate.

Were the paths for Cache and Publish at the same? Were they on the system, not on a networked drive?

Cleared using the button, was not the same as publish folder and was on the local drive and not a network. UPDATE: uninstalling/reinstalling Captivate seems to have worked. 6 out of 7 projects are able to open now. Must be something heinke or corrupt in the last one.

Did you not first try to clear the Preferences? Find the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder. Run CleanPreferences... appropriate for your OS while Captivate is closed. It may help for corruption of Captivate which seems to have occurred from your description. More info in my blog post:
