I've created several projects with Adobe Captivate 7 and have added animated GIFs to my project. When I publish, the GIF animations are only animated when played as SWF. When I play the HTML5 version the GIFs only show the first frame.
Is there a way for me to publish my Adobe Captivate project so that the GIFs are animated when viewing the HTML5 output?
I seem to have found the solution and want to update in case anyone else runs into this.
I was able to to successfully publish to HTML5 only after I DELETED all of the GIFs that were currently in my library and then reinserted them. Once I deleted the GIFs from my Captivate Library and then reinserted by clicking the Insert -> Animation menu option, I published as HTML5 and my GIFs were intact.
Please note that I had completely replaced all of my GIFs using the Insert-> Animation menu option bef

Hi Lillieestelle,
May I know how you are inserting the Gif animations into the captivate project.
Are you dragging and dropping the swf animations in to the slide ?
Please try to insert the Gif animation by clicking the Insert->Animation menu option and check the Html5 output.

Haridoss

HaridossR1234,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried both draging-and-dropping the animation into the project as well as using the insert-> Animation menu option, but neither result in and animated GIF being displayed when the project is on the web and being viewed as an HTML5.
I should note that the GIF IS animated when I view the project on my computer after publishing, but not when the project is displayed on my website. I publish the project with both GIF and SWF checked and Chrome displays the animated GIF but Firefox and Safari do not.
When you say to check the HTML5 output, do you mean when I'm publishing the project as a whole or is there that option somewhere when I'm inserting the GIF?
Sincerely,
Lillie

Also, when I look at the output, my dr file seems to have all of my GIFs as single-frame png's rather than GIFs. It appears that the reason that the GIFs play in the SWF output is that they are embedded in the SWF file.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for this info! I am having issues with publishing to html5 as well with my GIF animations and was wondering about the settings of GIFs in relation to Captivate.... I made mine if Flash CC and then put them into Photoshop to properly set the BG color to transparent. The rest of my setting are as follows in the image:

I'm wondering if these settings need to be set to something in particular for them to work correctly with Captivate when it publishes to HTML5?
Thanks,
Dan
