Can I add more Caption Markers in Closed Captioning menu?

I have just started using closed captioning in my projects and some of my slide notes are very long.  I have recorded the audio but the closed captioning only shows the first little bit but doesn't continue to show the rest of the slide note.

Is there a way for me to add a caption marker so the closed captioning will show?

Or any other suggestions as to how I can get the entire slide note to show?

Hi Tracy,

In Captivate, you will have one Caption marker for each slide note that you decide to use as Closed Caption.

So my suggestion is to break your big slide notes into in bunch of smaller slide notes that would be much easier to use as Closed Caption.

Another way of dealing with this issue is to modify the font-size of the Closed Caption. This has changed a lot in Captivate 2017, so to give you the exact procedure to follow I need to know if you are using Captivate 9 or Captivate 2017.

By breaking down your big slide notes in a bunch of smaller ones, plus adjusting the font-size of your closed Captions, I'm sure you will come up with the right combination for your project.

Hope this helps..

Damien

Thank you Damien, that is helpful.  For reference, I am using 2017 so do have flexibility with font sizes...however I think I'll need to be splitting up my slide notes in to much smaller ones to get my desired outcome.

You're completely right! Splitting up your Slide Notes is the key!

Good luck!

Hey Damien, while I have your attention...I have found that stretching the closed captioning box across the entire bottom of my slide works well but do I have to change it for each slide - OR - is there a way for me to set the CC box to default to that?  I peeked around in the preferences but didn't see anywhere.  Wondering if you might be aware of somewhere to do that?

Hey Tracy, Haven't you watched all my videos? I think I have this one.

Ooops - sorry Paul!  I've watched most of them but I might have missed this one.  Plus using the CC option is very new to us so I may not have paid attention to that one when we weren't using it.

I do enjoy your videos!  You are still my number 1 resource.  Although having the Community right in Captivate is very helpful as well!

You can use the Drop Down menu in the bottom center of the CC Settings dialog. It let you choose the slide you modify, but at the top of the list there is a "Project" option that lets you define the default CC settings for the entire project.

YES!  Thank you.  It appears to default at Slide 1 and I had to scroll up to see the "Project" option.

Thanks again for your help!
